Moving Details

So many people have asked about the details of our move and Eric's 1st Semester of school. Ross University Vet School offers 3 semesters of classes each year. Eric will start in September and finish his first semester in December. All new students must live on campus their 1st semester to get aquainted with the island and lifestyle, allow time to search for off campus housing, and allow time to buy a car (It is a British island, so they drive on the LEFT side of the road, on the LEFT side of the car! AAHH..Imagine shifting a manual w/ your left hand!). The only way we would have the option of living off campus in Sept. is if we had children.
Eric will attend 7 semesters on St. Kitts, and finish his last year of vet school here in the States (most likely TAMU). As for me...I am not sure what I will be doing yet. (Lying on the beach, fishin', sippin Mai Tai's :) ) We have heard from Ross staff that it is often a challenge for spouse's to find jobs because of VISA requirements, unless you have a specialty (which I do, but I am not sure if OT is practiced on the island.) Ross U is unique, as they have a preparatory school for the children of students attending vet school, K-12. Eric's friend started school down there this May, and his wife will join him this summer once she finishes out her school year in the states teaching. She actually got a job w/ the prep school at Ross, and will teach down there while her husband attends vet school. We are very lucky that they will be down there a whole semester before us, and will have great insight and tips for what to expect once we get there. WHHEEWW..that was a mouthful. Anyway, Eric and I will travel to Kitts in July to tour the school and some of the island. We will stay at the Marriott Resort & Royal Beach Casino for three nights! It looks awesome. I would recommend this hotel to anyone because you can get pretty cheap rooms ($125/night: cheaper than La'Burge AND you can gamble!) :) Below I have posted an aerial view of the Marriott.

So this is my first blog/post ever! WooHoo! I am going to start with our B-E-A-U-tiful 2-year-old home that is here in College Station. It is our first home we built and have shared together, and will sadly be moving out of it in early August. It will most likely stay on the market for lease, so if anyone knows of a family looking for a temporary home to live in, let us know! It is 3 bedroom, 2 bath w/ all appliances, 2-car garage, fenced in backyard, and covered backporch. Here is a picture of our house when it snowed this past winter. I will post more pics when I get around to taking them!
