May 2010 Break: On to Third Semester!

WOW! I know it has been too long since I have last posted, but Eric and I have been extremely busy over the two week break. To start off, Eric did well on his finals and passed 2nd semester! I am so proud of him! Now on to third! We decided to stay on the island for his two week break from classes, and had family visit us here in St. Kitts.
Eric's parents flew down the Saturday after finals and spent a few days with us. We gave them the island tour, stopping at the vet school, Romney Manor, Brimstone Hill Fortress, the horse race track, the black rocks, the southern peninsula, etc! They pretty much got to see every inch of the island while they were here. The next day we took the car ferry to Nevis and experienced the beautiful botanical gardens and scenery as we drove around the whole island. We were non-stop while they were here, and had a great time with them!
My family arrived a few days after the Metteauers left, and stayed for a whopping 7 nights! Those in attendance were my mom & dad (Geri & Gary), my brother, sister-in-law and nephew (Tyler, Courtney and Jeremiah), my Aunt Sheila, Uncle Barry, Cousin Mary Beth and Aunt Nita! Whoo! Six of them rented a 3 bedroom villa overlooking the 11th hole of the golf course, as well as the Atlantic Ocean. We accomplished so much in that week, including: hitting all the great beaches, island tour to Romney Manor & Brimstone Hill Fortress, Catamaran Trip with snorkeling, shopping at the port, casino nights, a morning of golf for Tyler, Eric & Dad, and much more! Mary Beth was even chased by a monkey (sad I didn't get it on video), and then Dad had a little rodeo with this monkey!
We are so blessed to have such great families that travel many miles to see us and our temporary home. Over the course of the last two weeks, Eric and I have taken over 500 pictures. Of course I cannot post them all, so I tried to sift through and post as many as I could.

In two weeks, Eric and I will travel to the Grand Cayman Island for his sister's wedding. We are excited for Shana & David and hope they will enjoy marriage as much as we do! This trip will give us a nice break from St. Kitts and will allow us to see more family and friends. We are also excited to hit up Burger King and a mexican food restaurant during our two overnight layovers in Miami!

When Eric completes his 3rd semester, we will travel home to Texas over the two week break in August! Until then, we hope to stay in touch with friends and family back home via email, facebook, skype, and phone calls! We miss home so much, but continue to focus on the goal at hand.

I have posted the pictures in no particular order, and the pictures can explain themselves! Until the next post, goodbye and God Bless!
