So besides class and studying for finals this week, Eric will also be consumed with monitoring the possibilities of a tropical cyclone coming our way. And although most of the buildings here are structurally equipped for hurricanes, the aftermath is what worries us... No electricity, flooding, being relocated from our apartment to bunk with friends in a no-flood zone, contaminated water, shortage of food, grouchy vet students (well, if there is such thing as being grouchier than the weeks before finals). You get my drift. Over the next 48 to 72 hours, if it looks bad, I may be making an earlier appearance to the US of A than originally planned (and this was told to me by Eric). Being four 1/2 months pregnant plus post-cyclone conditions on a tinsy-tiny island, plus the possibility of getting sick are just not kosher, in the informal sense. As of right now, on Sunday at 12:25 Eastern Time, the red blob has a 60 % chance of forming into a tropical cyclone in the next 48 hours. Pray for us!
